things i'm loving . . . 'fashion & fun'

Greetings all,
Anyone else's blog, email & internet messing up??  Me too!!  So i'll make this a quick trip around my week of Things I'm Loving with PaisleyJade . . .
my middle girl brushed her brother's longest ever hair into a Lego man look for back to school silliness.  We scored fantastic teachers, very happy & my son has gained a more intelligent expression on his face after weeks in the pool.  Next stop: a hair cut, the boy has sideburns!!
Pleasant surprise in the letterbox, a comprehensive David Jones catalogue, with this delicious trench coat . . . the Perri Cutten staff have been clients of mine, tee hee.
Now this Flannel dress is so beautiful, it just cascades (Flannel is the label, not the material!!)
So fashion repeats itself - comes around every 20 years or so??  I truly thought snake skin jeans & skin tight animal print were dead & gone forever, buried, torched, entombed.  So few can wear these off the cat walk, i'm a bit scared.
Found a little perch for this tea pot which makes me smile.  Trying to keep up my new interest in iced tea (hot tea still tastes awful) but the cool weather is messing with Summer flavours.
My Christmas gifted Pandas have been played with at length, thanks Tania!!
So on top of school fees & a high school lap top programme, my eldest still needed A4 spiral books & stationery (??) so while i was in Big W, i realised The Help had just been released (i was sorry i missed it at the cinema & no, i didn't read the book).  Great movie.  I loathe it when people say "it's only human nature to be unkind" - there is no excuse, these white ladies are downright bitchy, in one maid's words "mean like it's a sport".  Milly was my favourite maid, strong, hilarious & so clever!!  Great movie to watch with your children, Social Psychology 101 - bullying, bystander & mob mentality all wrapped up into one brilliant story, where courage wins against the odds.  What goes around people, watch out!!

No idea how the weekend will pan out, athletics is off at the first hint of rain.  My hands are very sore but great news, surgery on the horizon, i should to 'things i'm loving' . . . my orthopaedic hand surgeon (& the yacht i must be funding him) more on my hands later, i'm SO happy, love Posie

Must rush out and get my David Jones catalogue! By coincidence, my daughter lent me her copy of The Help to read and I'm loving it. I'll have to finish it before I see the movie.

I for one am glad that fashion keeps coming round. I'm permanantly to be found in blue and white stripes (sometimes red) and occasionally I'm bang on trend!!! (think it's my summer again - whoop!)
Good news about prospective surgery.
Your children always look so healthy and beautiful....fee x

Hope you will post the after photo of the cute boy's haircut! Love the teapot and the flannel dress - pity it wouldn't work for me. So glad to hand surgery is getting closer. Be happy!

So glad to hear you have a date for surgery. I love the teapot too. I missed seeing The Help - dang, I haven't seen a movie since Ginger was born:) - I would like to see this one though. Mr Provincial has duty Monday night, maybe I'll go hire it for then. I have some valentine's crafts to be getting on with that evening - and craft and movie = happiness.

Can't say I have had any trouble with blogger, but my photo editing software has gone nuts and keeps turning my pictures black and white! I did initially blame blogger, until it happened a second time.

Thank you for the reminder.
I'm glad your surgery is imminent - then you can hopefully move forward in the hand department!
My hand surgeon was a bit of a McDreamy too - my MIL recommended him with a giggle!
I hope you have a lovely (dry) weekend there.

My goodness! Those pants! Surely only someone with the figure of a stick insect could wear them? I love your boy's hair. Wish I could get mine to look like that. Love the teapot too. Roll on post-op days; I'm glad for you.

That's good news about your hand. I always look at specialist doctor's cars and wonder which bit I have paid for :)
I loved reading The Help and can't wait to see the movie. I might see if I can hire it tonight.
Have a good weekend :)

it must be so much fun to pour tea out of that tea pot. The pandas look like something I'd like to play with, too.

What a lovely post - and so glad the babushka pandas are being enjoyed; are they not adorable!

Your wee man looks airbrushed, his skin is so divine.

The Help was one of my fave books of 2009 - predicted it would be a film when I reviewed it for Australian Women Online http://www.australianwomenonline.com/book-review-the-help-by-kathryn-stockett/ - et voila!

so glad there is progress on your hands Jennie, what a relief it will be for you.

I LOVED The Help movie, loved it. I saw it long after it came out at the movies at a special screening (for an entire retirement village I think...lol) with a friend. I read the book too but must say, I liked the movie more.

Hope you have a lovely week. Its always a good feeling when the kids get great teachers!!

Good luck with the surgery Jennie.

I love the teapot! Where did you get it.

I loved the help, both the book and the movie. I read the book first and neither disappointed me!

Thanks alot : ) for your post. I would like to write my opinion that the
expense of car insurance will vary from one insurance plan to another, since there are so many different
facets which give rise to the overall cost.
For instance, the make and model of the auto will have a large bearing
on the price tag. A reliable old family car
will have a more affordable premium when compared to a flashy
expensive car.
