our creative space . . . 'glamping'

Greetings all,
It's just not a real school holidays without a sleepover - my children swap rooms, have friends over & build cubby houses all the time, but i thought we'd upscale & go a little more ladylike, dainty & mummy take over styled. . .
one bedroom was transformed into glamping . . .
glamorous camping calls for lots of cushions . . .
 bunting flags & lanterns . . .
 special teddies were invited . . .
any excuse to plug in the flamingo lights!!
These gnome & toadstool lanterns are permanently strung here . . .
tiny pegs are holding the temporary ones in place . . .
layers of tulle netting form a canopy . . .
the girls absolutely loved it & slept like babies.

my creative space 'Handmade Hen's Night'

 Greetings all,
Thanks for your support, love & interest in my last post, yippee, i'm very thrilled to reveal that i'm hosting/ teaching/ creating a Handmade Hen's Night.  For a very cool, craft loving bride-to-be who dreams of all things vintage, pretty & handmade . . . we're holding it at Shop Handmade - the hen's favourite shop in the whole wide world, of course!!  So how could we (Shop girl Rachel & i) resist holding a VIP function in the middle of the Shop where girls can squeal, shop, sew, snack & send their gorgeous friend off into wedding bliss.  Shop will be closed from 6p.m. (regular trade) to the general public for this private function on Friday night.  You can peer in the windows though & be jealous.
Will i ever get tired of using these French blocks??
Trial run of decorations & setting up on my studio floor.  I'll get fresh biscuits, but seeing it's a Zumba party for my children & their friends tonight (8 children for dinner), they'll get eaten!!
Little flags, rose lights & pot pourri, smells & looks delicious.
I'm going to put a B tag on the pink suitcase & a J tag on the blue one.
The crochet chocolates will be pin cushions, of course!!
So imagine 180cm of trestle table goodness laid out for a dozen crafty ladies.
Trying to make Bs & Js but my CriCut blade is blunt & i can't find the official cutting mat either??  I might just use the Sizzix or hand cut, small hiccup & laziness not keeping equipment maintained.
So wish us well, i figure if we make any tiny mistakes, the champagne might cover them up, non??  It's Shop Handmade's birthday in less than 10 days, 1 year old, ahhhh.
Thanks for all the well wishes for my middle daughter's chin - it's Chin Watch day 5 & healing nicely, well, from a bruise point of view, it's pretty horrible in it's 5 shades of purple, red & brown.  Thanks for pointing out how clean her nose is, this particular child is always immaculate.

shhh . . . i'm up to something . . .

Greetings all,
Ever felt like you BORN to do something??  A mix of the right personality, timing, skills & execution??  Well i'm up to something, this Friday night, a new part of my business will be hatched.
I have been wanting to do this for ages . . .
but waiting for the right opportunity (venue, time, audience).
I get to show off my vintage style props . . .
& share some self taught skills.
I'll be pulling out the Rachel Ashwell fabrics . . .
showing off my collection & decorating style.
Needless to say i'm BIG KEV EXCITED about this new adventure.  Do you remember Big Kev??  When i was younger, an accurate measure of how excited i was, was on a scale of . . . NOT excited at all . . . to Big Kev excited.  Big Kev was a day time television cleaning product salesman extraordinaire, who got very pumped & excited over goo remover & cleaning pastes.  Sadly Big Kev (beer belly, red face, Hawaiian shirts & all) died of a heart attack.
So ladies & gentlemen, stay tuned for my exciting tales & fingers crossed it's not a one off!!
Finally, thank you for all the lovely comments on my middle girl's chin wars - this is day 3, her little purple bruised goatee is looking worse for wear.  She's a little less stiff in the jaw but it's amazing how a sore chin can make unpacking the dishwasher an impossible task.  Love Posie

a spot of shopping with my broken daughter

Greetings all,
Well it started off an ordinary day . . .
 freshly squeezed orange juice & pancakes (large & small) . . .
Ok, well ordinary in by my household standards . . .
seriously, does he still have to wear food aged 7??
Until thump . . . my middle girl who can trip over her own feet from a standing start & get a concussion . . . tripped over in the hallway & thumped her chinny chin chin on the door frame.
Oh yes, it's a beauty, no wonder she had a headache & sore jaw.
So we dropped the big sister, twin sister & little brother at school, & hit the shops.
Thought these cute bags would be great for an Easter Egg Hunt & Scandinavian stamps for some fun card making.
Picked up this calendar half price, to chop up & make into tags in the school holidays.
Oh look at these super pretty lights, seriously Typo do them so well & inexpensive.
Aren't they just lovely, i got them for the high schooler.
Kikki-K is 10 years old, this is their HUGE booklet to celebrate.

If you rush into Typo - they have these aprons for $10 with any purchase, so yes, i will Keep Calm & Cook On thanks.  I picked up the Best Ever Brownie Mix from The Curious Chocolatier at Shop Handmade today, can't wait to make them.  My husband makes incredible brownies (i think it's a Saturday Disney recipe) but couldn't resist Heidi's blend.  I'm baking anyway for another cup cake fund raiser for Japan at primary school, mmmm.
So donk your chin on a door frame & enjoy a day shopping with mummy - that's how we roll.  She's feeling much better now, just a bit tender.  Love Posie
