my creative space 'easing back into custom orders'

Greetings all,
Yawn, is it really time to do some work, some orders & some deliveries??  I'm still deep in school holiday relaxing mode.  A sweet customer at Shop Handmade had me applique a name onto a towel at Christmas (something Louise from Mrs Sew & So's normally does but she was moving house & interstate at the time) i still felt like i was cheating on Louise though - she is still the queen of towel applique.
The same customer needed another quick name onto a towel applique this week, so brought in a towel & requested JOEY in hot pinks.  I thought i'd share it with you here . . .
Making up the letters with a pencil, i simply make them 'ruler width thick' & about 14x8cm in size, remember to do them mirror image!!
Picked out 4 hot pinks patterned prints & ironed on the adhesive to the back of them, then cut the letters out.
Peel off adhesive, position & iron onto the towel.
Applique around the edges, blanket stitch always looks effective.
Da dah, the hot pink on grassy green looks quite cute, non??  It's what the customer wanted!!  I dropped it off to Shop on the way to the pool.  Mmmm egg & chive sandwiches reading cook books while the children swam, delightful!!
I bought the Poh's Kitchen cookbook without even opening the cover, just her beautiful smile on the front cover was enough to entice me to open my purse!!  I can only imagine if i had opened up this front page, i would have sat on the floor & gone through the WHOLE book in the store, then pointed out my favourite bits to the sales assistant (i do that, a lot!!)  I'll do a big Poh feature soon, the book is adorable!!
Happy creative spacing me lovelies, check out Kootoyoo, yep, My Creative Space is back.  Love Posie

What a sweet idea for a gift.
I used to hoard cook books but didn't often use them, I have since culled them to only a few...might have to add this one.

Totally off topic, how great was the Oprah show last night? So very blessed to live in Australia.

I am popping this down as a Christmas gift idea for next year:) Hold me to that I AM NOT KNITTING for all of the nieces and nephews:)
It looks great - that book looks great too - Oh I could so see you telling the sales assistant everything - must come from your Darwin days - I will never ever forget my first shopping trip - I never thought that I was going to get out of Woolworths, at the time I thought HOW ANNOYING - now I miss that layed back living and nice people.

The personalised towel is great.. esp if you have kids who fight over whose towel it is.
Poh is one Masterchef contestant that is still around. I definitely want to hear how the book / recipes are.
