OMG i've gone & ruined my blog!!

Greetings all,
So my husband went out for dinner last night & i thought i'd fiddle with my blog, maybe try out some new templates . . . then do a sweet post about this gorgeous blouse i bought my eldest daughter, talk about how teen fashion doesn't have to be trashy (of course this blouse is worn with a tank top underneath) & how pretty it looks blowing in the almost-Spring breeze, with a side note of how i would never actually peg anything this way, it was purely for the photo . . . & somehow i have destroyed my blog look.
So rather than make any more mistakes, i'm just winging it with this current look & will hammer away at a new template on the weekend, while my husband goes fishing with our son.  I'll pretend that i'm relaxed & floating like the breeze in this image.  Only i'm not, i'm really annoyed, tense & trying to remind myself "it's only a blog" + i can fix it later.  I don't want to pay for a blog template, i was happy with my old Blogger one, which no longer exists so i can't go back.  I wasn't ready to move forward, just play around.
What irritates me the most - is trying to find a free blog template which allows the side bar titles in small caps.  Don't capital letters = yelling??  I don't need to yell "I'M POSIE, WELCOME TO MY BLOG!!"  Deep breaths.  Does it look as bad as i think or was i just SO comfortable with my old look??
Have you ever fiddled around with your blog & completely changed it by accident too??  Is this what drunk dialling/ texting/ emailing feels like (only i don't drink) my stomach sank as i clicked 'view blog' & it looked like this.  I can't even work out what colour palate/ fonts/ date formations i want . . .  so signing off & tackling this template another day before i make it worse!!  Why doesn't Blogger have a big 'undo' button for major things like template changes??  It's a pretty blouse though, non.  Love Posie

too funny! i've never noticed the all caps on the side bar titles until you said it. had to go back and see if i've been yelling at folks this whole time. yup! :)

It has happened too many times to me too - if you need some help let me know. I love your daughters blouse!

I have the opposite problem...tooo cautious to change. I went in to change my look the other day, then because I couldn't see how it would look before destroying the one I have I ended up not doing anything...and now am equally frustrated!

Its really not as bad as you think! I am sure no one feels you are yelling at them! (well I certainly don't) Just keep with the deep breathing and then you can play with the design later!

ha ha - I did the same. Still trying to bond with the new template!

A big undo arrow would be great actually. I run a test blog (kept unseen) where I usually try out things first, although last time I was fiddling I didn't use it and ended up with something not quite right that I haven't got around to changing back.

i shouldnt laugh but i did have a giggle :) i think its a good step forward. maybe the universe thought you needed to be made 'uncomfortable' for a while! as for the caps, i quite like caps. im an architect drafter, so all our work is done upper case so i never understood the 'yelling' thing. my emails were always in set mode with caps on due to my work! now im pure lazy & dont even use standard grammar. everything is lowercase all the way. occasionally if im feeling in the mood i'll put my apostrophy in the right spot! hmm wonder if its an insight into my unkept house?

Yes, I've done the late night "I'll just see how my blog would look like with this template" too! Bad idea lots of lost sleep trying to fix it. I like your new look though.

I'm always to scared to fiddle around with templates too. IT is definitely not my thing. I would almost rather pay someone to do that stuff if I ever wanted to change it. Hope you can feel better about it on the weekend, with not too much frustration x

I clicked on your post expecting it to be all hotch potch but I actually really like the change - it's fresh and simple and lovely! However, it has to be YOU and if you're not comfortable with it, eventually you can change it to suit you more. I find the font/colour on this one easier to read visually. Perhaps you could change the background or something to a colour you prefer? I've been fiddling round with my blog all last week and it's been driving me batty!! I'm no blog expert and teaching myself html code and the like has been hard going on my brain :)

P.S Thanks for being so lovely and always leaving me comments on my posts. I'm hoping to catch up on all your posts I've missed lately over the course of today while the girls nap. I haven't been as good at commenting as I usually am sorry xx

It took me 12 months to get the courage to change stuff on mine... and it's still a work in progress! Have fun fiddling on the w/e... and I hope you come up with something you really like.
You daughter's blouse is very pretty. Lucky her! :)

You know what. It's like hair colouring. You can just colour over it. It might just take a little time ;) PS my prize arrived today - thanks!

oh my GOD I thought the exact same thing when I was trying to redo my blog. Stupid caps. I downloaded a program called artisteer to make my own blog design except then after a year it needed updating and I had to pay more and I didn't want to and it stopped working. So now I am stuck with caps in the side bar too!

Oh yeah! I fiddled with mine a while back and lost the original. i was beside myself then thought, what the heck. Then I got annoyed and stressed again
I know mine doesn't have caps in the side bar thingy, but to be honest, I don't know how they got that way...I just go with the flow these days and much prefer the "old blogger" to the new (so called) improved version
I still don't know why they fix things that aint broke!

HI Posie, I am a bit of a fiddler too and I make myself nervous with changes. I actually like what you have done. It is more spacious and neat and tidy.

It looks fine, Jennie! I fiddle with my blog all the time, last night I was playing with my sidebars and almost broke it!

And the caps don't bother me :)

It looks good! I'm always stuffing around with my template. Regarding the capital letters in the sidebar - I'm sure there's something out in the land of Google to show you how to change this in HTML?

I appear to be yelling at you to! (sorry about that) I don't think we will take it personally, it appears that all of the logs I read are blogging at me:)
Love that top, think that I might have to find it in my size.

Yes, too funny, the blouse is adorable, and yes I have had some mishaps with my blog designs. Have a lovely Friday.x

Oh I can imagine that's frustrating! I usually google for a good hour before attempting any changes, because I really have no idea :-) On the flip-side it really doesn't look that bad!

Yes, it's a gorgeous Blouse. BLOGGER IS SO FRUSTRATING SOMETIMES :-) I loved your old template - but this is also similarly 'clean' and simple. I feel like a change too, but don't know what to do about it. I've fiddled a bit I'm not very tech-saavy so it ends up being wasted time. Yours is fine though, as is. Have a great weekend :-D

Pretty blouse....not sure about the colour combination of your blog though :( sorry!

I'm with blogger too, there are so many things I'd like to change with my template but not sure how to, I don't find it very user-friendly.

I like plain white blogs, no idea why :-)
The shirt is really pretty!

I really love that blouse. Love. And glad you got your blog fixed and looking how you want it to x

Nice blouse. I'd love a post on where to get 'nice' teenage fashion. My problem is that I have an 8 year old that is wearing size 12 clothes as she is so tall and it's sometimes hard to find age appropriate clothes for her that don't cost a bomb.
I had blog dramas on Friday - my whole blog disappeared for an hour or two!!!!! "deleted" according to blogger..... tad scary!!!
