Ladies & Gentleman, Your Majesty, The Queen . . .
at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra.
For possibly less regal & majestic Wordless Wednesday images, take a peek at Faith Hope & a Whole Lotta Love. I'm soaking it up ladies!! Ok forget wordless for a minute . . . my head is giddy with pride to be part of the Commonwealth & the fact she was visiting the Afghanistan Exhibition while my husband is serving in Afghanistan, well, it's just perfect. She was a few feet away from me, front & centre, waiting for a woman i have admired my whole life. She did not disappoint, she is beautiful & graceful, look at that smile. Check out how engaging her beloved husband, The Duke of Edinburgh is with the children!! I will remember this day forever!! Love Posie

Wow! What a thrill. Great photos too. xx
She truly is a woman to be admire and such grace.
That looks like one of your Cherubs that the Duke is smiling at, is it?
Lovely photos, so much better than anything I've seen on the tv.
Happy day!
Oh i wish my children were with me. My high schooler had some snail experiment to do first period, my blonde twinnies are away on camp & my son, well i didn't realise how good an opportunity to meet the Queen & offer her flowers would be!!??
I picked the boy up from school & said "OMG, i was like 2m from the Queen" & he said "did you offer her a drink??" Um, no, i did not. He would have loved it, next time, i am elbowing people out of the way to get my children front & centre like i was today. Love Posie
oh wow, what a day for you! one you can never forget ♥
Cool - she seems to be going strong, how old can she be now? I have no clue actually.
You have a best friend that´s swedish - how fun! Say hello to her from me! :-)
Great pictures!! You were so close to her.
Wow, what an opportunity! And very good photos! What camera do you have?
Wow Jennie - great photos! You had an absolute winner today! Very special photos of a very special lady!
Very cool!
Oh I just woke up to see this on the news, and thought of you xxx
You caught some great captures here - so clear, especially under the circumstances of being in a crowd.
Hi Jennie what a treat for you and to see her at the memorial too. Shame the weather was a but 'ow's ya farva'. Did you like that. Comedy Jennie, comedy!....T
She's just amazing, isn't she! Lucky you, getting to see her :)
Oh how lovely! Fabulous photos! A-M xx
heehee... I was looking for you in the crowd on the news lately... thought you might have popped out to visit the lovely lady :-)
She is stunning!!! She has aged so gracefully. I admire so much about her.
You have some wonderful images, and the whole experience to go with it. :)
Wow! You WERE close! How lovely! You will indeed always remember and cherish this day!
Wow! You WERE close! How lovely! You will indeed always remember and cherish this day!
wow, did you shake hands? :)
Oh Posie. I am so jealous!! I Iove the Queen. How lucky are you!! xx
Glad to see you are enjoying us lending her to you for a while - she is 85 and going strong, and Prince Phillip is 90 now!! Can you imagine taking a 24 hour flight at that age? (And, yes, I do appreciate they probably didn't fly economy)...
The hat. The hats. Where do these hats come from?
So amazing!! What a wonderful chance to be so close to the Queen! Her hats are something else and her smile seems so genuine!
Camera details: i was using my Nikon DS70 SLR, it's fantastic, with the short lens, i do have a telescopic lens, but not necessary when i knew she was going to be RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!
Special mention to the lovely tiny old lady in front of me, who i could photograph right over the top of her fluffy hair. Love Posie
Great pics! How fun :-) We saw her get off the boat at the lake going to Floriade not as close but not as easy to keep the team quiet and happy to wait for HM!
Oh Posie! This is just fabulous and something to be treasured! My sister met Prince Charles once but she was too young to remember - my parents have it all filmed on Super8!
What a moment for you! I can sense your pride. The last photo is great with the flag in the foreground. We had royal encounter ourselves this week but yours sounds extra special. xo
Such a great opportunity ~ she is one very beautiful lady in so many ways! Amazing to be that close to her :-) I've never seen her and I live in the UK! It's a once in a lifetime thing I think :D
oh wow! how TOTALLY cool!!! Yay for you!!Your photos are amazing.
I considering heading to Brissy yesterday to try to catch a glimpse, but thought it might be a bit too busy.
My only claim to meeting any royals was when I was at primary school and I met then 'Lady' Diana and Prince Charles... still have a photo somewhere...very cool
What an experience! I'm glad you got some great photos to commemorate the day!
Something I'm sure you will never forget - and you have the photos to prove it! Gotta get me one of those Nikon DS70's. ;)Sharyne
PS - I just have to say how much your comments on Blogging (at Lou Lou's) this morning really resonated with me. I totally agree with you - keep it natural and don't ever lose the soul!
On a point of protocol, your introduction is incorrect, it should be, Her Majesty The Queen. Beautiful pictures, glad you used the big camera.
love

special indeed!! kind face he has and truly interested in the children!
Wow! Great photo opportunity. I just love the queen and envy those of you who get to have one. I love portraits of her too. Have you seen Annie Liebovitz's portraits of the queen? I've heard the queen is a picky lady about having pictures done.
We Canadians get quite a few visits from her as well. She is elegant , kind and gracious. Can you imagine having her job! Not for me, but she sure does it well. Her interest in the people she meets is genuine.
OMG - I'm by no means a royalist, but what an incredible life experience! Have you read her bio? Amazing. xxx
Oh wow you are bringing a different outlook on the Wednesday Jennie, I love your excitement! :)x
Oh if i was going to stick to protocol, thank you anonymous commenter, saying Your Majesty The Queen without the comma - loses the pause for effect. Love Posie
Fantastic images! Great sequence! I went and saw her as a child. Shows just how long she's been around!
Glad you enjoyed getting up close. Great photos.
That is so cool! Way to go!
I am so happy you had a lovely day Posie, I remember when the Queen came to visit Melbourne when I was little, I got a glimpse of her but you were so close. A memorable day. Mimi xx
These photos are AMAZING!!!! Aren't they both fabulous to be so active and engaged at this time in their lives? Thanks for sharing Posie x
Brilliant photos - how lucky to be so close. I was able to tell Mr Fudge what she was wearing before she came on the news thanks to your wonderful post. That last image with the flag is a work of art.
Regards
My Majesty Comma Missus Fudge
What a fantastic opportunity, and great photos too
Natural grace and flair...she is a wonderful inspiration
Great pics

Wow! That's so awesome. I hope I age nearly as well as she, isn't she amazing!
I live in London and I've never really seen the Queen, nowhere near as close up! Your title made me laugh, it sounds like a Child's Nursery Rhyme!
wow- what great photo's! Roseanne:)
Oh Posie what a thrilling day you had so glad for you :))
Wow wow WOW Posie! These are like clearer, better shots than Women's Weekly! Look at you Paparazzi Posie, awesome :o) What a special day for you, one you'll remember always I imagine xo
Wow amazing photos Posie what a wonderful experience for you, special memories you can treasure forever. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. Have a great day my friend.
Always Wendy
Lovely photos! And thank your husband for his courageous service.
Oh that is so exciting. I love the royals but the only one I've seen in person was Fergie back in the 80's. All I remember is that she was wearing a bright blue puffy thing. Fantastic shots too Posie...the best I've seen yet m'love :)
She is so lovely...great shots of her up close. i am not game enough to brave the crowds to see her.
What a wonderful experience for you. Fantastic!
She really is something. I hope I have that energy at that age. Your shots are spectacular!
