a Sydney side trip to the Donna Hay General Store

Greetings all,
On almost every trip to Sydney i detour to the Donna Hay General Store in Woollahra - where the beautiful people live, darling.  It's always so crisp & stylish, with beautiful products & clever merchandising.
I always go upstairs first, indulge my senses with candles & body products, handmade eye candy & home decor.  Not to mention the stunning building which houses these fine products.  We now have 6 floor cushions, i'm a fan!!
Then i stumble out the door with something from every shelf from the ground floor selection of cookbooks, bakeware, stationery, food & now . . . Royal Doulton china!!  I gushed like a giddy school girl about the milk glass range last week.
Yes, Donna Hay, the clever stylist & cook (for Oprah's Sydney visit & MasterChef fame) has been in big business for 10 years.  I picked up a copy of the limited edition 10th anniversary magazine.
I love this new cooling rack, it's replacing a 15 year old one which is bent & my squishy undercooked (on purpose) cookies fall through.  This large was less than $10.  I've already used it twice & want another one.
I can never resist her twines & cupcake wrappers, seriously, you'd find them in my fall-out-shelter as something i-have-to-take-with-me-if-the-world-ends.  I love her bags of chocolates & how cute are these paper bag lanterns??  I'll be using them in Summer, stay tuned!!  Look at the retro kitchen timer, now magnetised to the fridge, brilliant.
This could be dangerous, Donna's new Royal Doulton collection, baby steps, i'm starting with the measuring jug.  It feels so beautiful, pure luxury.  Love Posie
PS win a craft giveaway including Mollie Makes magazine!!

I never even knew that shop existed and I only live about 15 minutes away...hmm, I think a visit to Woollahra might be in order... a little worrying though being so close!

Well after reading Trixi's comment, it looks like you've done your community service for the day Lovely.

Donna is such an inspiration and although I live too far away to pop into the store I definitely bought the magazine last week and have enjoyed devouring every page.

Drooling from afar....xx's F.

PS: Love your concept of what would be in your shelter...I think there's a post/linky in that concept.

Donna Hay has been my favourite cook for ages. I bought her magazine when it first came out - I found the recipes great for a home cook trying to feed a family new and interesting meals that they all would eat. Now my the kids all go to the "Donna Hay's" when they want to cook something. I must go and get that magazine too! I know I wouldn't come out of the shop empty handed either!

WOW! What a great shop! And what lovely purchases, the cooling rack looks excellent. I love Donna Hay's cook books, but honestly had no idea there was a store devoted to her wares. I could get very lost in there. To think it's right under my nose and I didn't even realise. Thanks Posie :o) xo

Ah Jennie, you are so a woman after my own heart :)
I adore this shop...love it's location and once you're in there it's so entrancing!! I bought up a bunch of storage jars last time I was in and am going back soon to pick up some more :) I could order them online but that would take the fun out of it.
I also love the walk to it (as parking close by is usually hard to come by )you get to admire all the lovely Hansel and Gretel houses!!!

So much beautiful stuff. I have to say as much as I love her recipes, if I ever met Ms Hay, I would be asking that she ties her hair back while cooking no one wants the stray hair in their food.
