picking a colour theme for our kitchen

Greetings all,
I'm a dreamer, realistic, black & white, stubborn . . . but i can picture a product or design before i've even sketeched or hatched a plan.  My husband . . . let's just say he is the compliment to my personality . . . military precision & all that 'research' stuff.  However, when he said recently "damn it, let's start sketching this homestead you want" yes I WANT, it's like when the children are naughty they are MY CHILDREN . . . anyway, as i can see myself waltzing around this home, i may have, kind of, gone & bought a gift of mixing bowls for the future kitchen, just to base the colour scheme on of course, it's 'research'.
You like the colour combination??  I've had this scheme (evil plotting kind of colour scheme) for decades but handsome soldier has shockingly said no to black & white floor tiles??!!
Very convenient that the beautiful Bison shop is on the way to the airport & an eye candy experience when planes are delayed - which has been a lot lately.
All the bases are covered - we're blue people, who love red appliances (KitchenAid) with gunmetal grey accents, we're on our way.  Now where to put the kitchen sink, island, what kind of oven & do we dare go back to stools at the counter (the white leather ones which go up & down, up & down weren't such a success with 4 younger children) live & learn people . . . love Posie

My kitchen has been in the planning for 12 years. We break ground this month. I have the colour scheme all sorted.

I love your choices, they'll look amazing in your new kitchen.

I changed my mind at least 10 times, hope I got it right!

I LOVE Bison pottery. We go to the store in Melbourne when we're there and I've bought pieces for myself both years. When our new kitchen goes in in the next month or two I might have to get myself a set of those bowls. We are having a wall of red shiny cupboards and then white shiny cupboards and drawers around the stove. With polished floor boards - tho if the boards underneath here are wrecked I'm having black and white tiles!

You just know when its right!

I've enjoyed looking through the comments on 'truth and lies' - another great post Jennie.XX

(ps. i've seen alot of black and white checker board kitchen floors in England, in the big houses i worked in - they look fab!)

I think I love that box almost as much as the crockery!! The planning is certainly half the fun - but why the 'no' to the floor tile??
Men?!

Love the bison - I am a sly collector of this - in the red and the blue :-)
Perhaps you should open the tiles to a vote - they sound perfect!

Love the colour combo you've chossen for your kitchen.......black and white definately means business and throwing in the red adds a little bit of lightheartedness and fun.

How fun. One has to plan and scheme or one would go nuts living in a house one can make no improvements to. We watch grand designs and world's greenest homes purely in aid of research for our future home:)

Your colour scheme is very similar to what we have planned for the kitchen in the strawbale house we are building. We have a red kitchen aid too.. I made them (family) buy the candy apple red, even though it was $100- more ;)
I spent 3 hours last night looking at ovens... I'm partial to the Ilve ovens which are mega glazed and sealed and cool to the touch (good for kids) but we'll see if the bank says yes! lol.
I look forward to seeing your progress!

What lovely colour choices. Isn't the Bison pottery beautiful? I wish we had a store in Tassie :)

I'm mentally planning my kitchen too, but it will probably take a few more years to get the money saved up for it (drat that big family holiday to Disney that we are saving up for at the end of the year - that would easily have paid for the kitchen AND new appliances!).
