my creative space 'car craft'

Greetings all,
Yet more travelling around the countryside this week, this time . . . in the hope of finding some land to buy.  Still a pipe draem but if/ when you leave the Army, you lose your Army house, so if/ when handsome soldier discharges, we need a back up plan for our big family.
So i took hand stitching (which was hard to focus on as my husband likes me to pay attention to him & i had wide eyes looking at the big chunks of Australia i could imagine raising our children on) but also sent some emails for my husband as things popped into his head.  Such multitasking, we women can do anything!!

I like this property, over 100 acres (tick), within an hour of Canberra (tick), electricity connected (tick), wind break (tick) . . . my list is pretty modest.
Anyone else gone house or land shopping & tried not to let their dreams, heart, head run a mile a minute??
My husband is having heart palpitations at the thought of leaving his career to try something new, house a growing family (no more children, even more scary - teenagers!!) oh & we're about to toss a private high school into the expenses & build, oh that's right, we'd have no where to live in the mean time??  Yikes!!
For less stressful creative spaces, check out those who worship Kootoyoo here.  Love Posie

Oh that is a beautiful block of land, love the wind break, nice thinking! It's exciting & extremely stressful all at the same time, waaayy too much to think about & to consider, but nothing beats being together in a family home..Sounds like a wonderful plan, I hope you find your dream piece of Australia!

All of that land! Plenty of room to run your teenagers on : ) It must be very exciting (and confronting) to be having to think about these things just now. Mine are not teenagers yet, but I'm pretty sure we're going to need some more space sooner or later (given they share a room for starters!)

A very close friend of ours left the army after 20 something years, he too was worried about becoming a civilian. After two years he's settled right in and after having to be cleanly shaven every day for his army life he now has a big bushy beard.....he looks like a mountain man.

The block of land looks gorgeous.....got to love that it has a big wind break!

wow what are you planning with 100acres of land??? A dreamy vineyard perhaps, or maybe an olive to walnut orchard??? sounds like heaven ;-)

What a beautiful outlook for your dream home - hope it all falls into place for you. Mean time you've got lots of yo-yo magic going on as you travel around the country-side!

I'm sure you could fit a caravan on that property whilst you are building ;-)

Lovely plans - looks like there is plenty of room for a swarm of chickens and a paddock of spinach!

Ponies?

The land dream is pretty sweet but punishing. We have had to leave our block o land where it lies for the next few years as we do a bit more money earning on the wrong side of the country.

Leaving one thing to do something else - looks like there is a lot of fencing out that way?

Thanks for following! Interesting reading your blog on the parenting... I'm only parent to a geriatric cat but it sounds like you're doing a great job of raising kids the way they were meant to be!
And that pic of the yo-yos...or suffolk puffs.. I could have taken those myself, I have heaps lying around, so handy to use up bits of fabric.

My dreams always rule whenever we go looking at 'the future'... I can't reign them in for love nor money.

That block of land would send me into overdrive too!! x

Looking forward to your dream becoming a reality for you all as well.
We have a similar pipe dream - there is some land in Wagga that we have our eye on at the moment - it is about 20A smaller than yours - but close to town and ticking the boxes too. I would pack up and move there tomorrow - although I dont think I could live for a year in the camper trailer:)
