Greetings all,
Welcome to another week of My Creative Space as hosted by Kirsty at Kootoyoo. This is my offering, something i made in January yet couldn't find the 5 minutes to fill it, stitch it up & plonk it by the front door. Our front door has a tendency to slam in the most gentle of winds, still, procrastination had set in.
Voila, a hommage to my love of Kristen Doran & PippiJoe screen printed fabrics, made into a door stopper based loosely on a Lotta Jansdotter pattern which i enlarged (too much).

This is why it could stop a freight train - it is filled with stones!!
For the ones i'm making to go into the Shop Handmade, i'm going to pad them with wadding first (which will also keep the fabric cleaner) then fill through a sleeve, so the bottoms don't look like this dust pad which once was denim!!
My instant stitching while balancing the 45kg door stopper on my knee!!
While you're enjoying the Shop Handmade blog, check out the Handmade Market blog too - a nice feature about Posie over there today!! Happy Creative Spacing people, love Posie

Nice! Love the fabrics you've chosen. Funny how the smallest of tasks can slip by the wayside. Glad you found time to finish it off, looks great!
beautiful fabric choices...lovely and thanks for popping by too!
I'll bet the door doesn't slam anymore with that baby threatening to whack it?? Love it.

Wow! Gorgeous door stop! We recently bought some sandbag weights for our gazebo ~ these would look sooo much better. I wonder if they'd last outside....

And your doorstop fabrics are gorgeous, lovely combinations.
Heh-heh that is one mother of a doorstopper - and beautiful fabrics to boot! Thanks for your suggestion that patchwork gets better with age as an excuse for a nearly 6 month late birthday present - I like it!

cute, let's hope the kids don't try to throw it at each other! that is pretty impressive being 45kg and might just work in this house!

That's a serious door stopper Posie! Great fabric xo
That will definately stop the door! Nice fabric choices.
With rocks like that, you could market them to a gym! (a really tasteful gym into the most beautiful fabric but of course!)...

I have a very similar one at my front door- but in a pyramis shape- it also weights a tonne.
Love the fabric you have used in your door stopper.
Thanks for all the great comments ladies, i really should make a matching one for weight lifting in my spare time. Love Posie
I was just about to write you could do some weightlifting exercise while you are at it but I see you have already thought of that. Very cute choice of fabric!!
Now this is one gorgeous door stop!!!! I love all of the fabrics you used, beautiful work..
Hugs

love your blog and your lovely creations!
greetings from Portugal! :)
Could be good for hurling at intruders too........if you could lift it!
Love this door stop but I'm not sure about the hand stitching on your lap. This could be a heath hazard.
Lovely door stops!!
I love the fabrics

Is it a real carrier from Chloe? With the actual plain design and inharmonious colours combination, I nearly think my own eyes.
This ndy?Satchel within eucalyptus buckskin is actually type of dull to check at, yet as a result of that zippered gusset in which displays the darker-hued solar panel as it tends to make this particular tote slightly interesting. It also includes a double leading handles along with golden square website link attachments, a top squat closure, plus some features on the side.
