hands up who loves packaging . . .

Greetings all,
Oh goodie goodie, what do you do when your favourite twine supplier does wholesale paper bags too . . . order THE LOT!!
Stripey bold colours on large paper bags.
A cute pink bag with white 'frosting' yes please!!
Tiny paper bags in zig zags, frosting, grid & note paper, gorgeous!!
 Anyone for polka dots??
 Of course, stickers to seal-the-deal.
My original collection of colourful Divine Twine.
Now they have new friends . . . in red, oyster, navy, lavender & airmail - red, white & blue stripes!!
Something about twine en masse that makes my heart sing.
The air mail collection - stickers, twine & red bags, love it!!
 A combination in black . . .
 or my favourite blues . . .
 pretty pinks for a princess party . . .
 cherry red, say no more.
Or perhaps something earthy & orange with chick stickers??
I'm playing around with some ideas & combinations for bags, stickers & twine for sale.
Really simple & creative gift wrap ideas.
Oh look at all these beautiful twines mixed up together.
Ah, so this is one way of being productive while having a break from the sewing machine.  I want to do up a bunch of these packs for Shop & my market stall, it's so much fun.  Oh i think i'll have to put together a giveaway of these packaging goodies to share the love of colour & fun . . . perfect for your next party, gift giving & craft supplies.  Love Posie

my creative space 'spotty inspiration'

Greetings all,
Is it just me or is this year speeding up & are Thursdays coming around more quickly??  Feeling about 80% capacity right now, i'm hoping Zumba can knock out the kinks this morning.  I miss my husband, a lot, weekends are especially empty without him, so very much looking forward to his next trip home (in 8 days!!)
That means i have to jam a whole lot of sewing into the next week, devote a day to cleaning, gardening, mowing & sorting the garage so i can pretend we're always this organised without a man around.  I have more quilts on my mind & was super thrilled to see these Amy Butler Full Moon Polka Dot fabrics reprinted & reintroduced to my stash!!
 These prints scream "patchwork me".
Oh then Anna Maria Horner made a veleteen collection, yes please, patchwork me into a Winter quilt now!!
But it's always the spots-pin-polka-dots which steal my heart.
I feel like having a bit of a "Devil Wears Prada" moment (remember the scene about the two blue, i mean cerulean belts which to the untrained eye were thought to be the same, gasp??)  I could easily go into a monologue about how incredibly different these amazing shades of creamy yellow spots, dots & honeycomb prints are & how they coordinate to make dramatic effects against other fabrics in a patchwork combination . . . without drawing a breath or blinking, Meryl Streep style.
Now for something completely different but still creative - i headed to school early yesterday with a headache & intentions of heading my son off at his classroom door to divert him straight to the car & NOT the playground . . . on the wall i found this drawing with a story about the book 'The Wrong Stone' (no, i've never heard of it either).  His story went like this, remember he's 7 years old & in year 2 . . . "My favourite part of the story was the start.  And the end."  Have to say, exactly like his 3 sisters, he had the most detailed drawing of his class & spent as little time & imagination as possible on the writing - but his punctuation was excellent.
Finally, if you're heading to Sew It Together in Sydney weekend after next, you'll find some screen printed love from Posie in your 'show bag'.  UPDATE: Sheridan has just received them - among other amazing sponsor prizes!!
For your regular Thursday dose of Creative Space invading, check out Kootoyoo & see who is playing along with Kirsty this week.  Up for a $200 pink giveaway, follow this blog & comment at this post.  Good luck!!  Love Posie
PS Thanks for the Eat Pray Love comments, either crafty blogging mummies are very content & grounded, or we're all missing the point of the book/ movie/ casting/ story/ action/ constant seeking of approval & path she took.  I'll watch it again, i just love Italy & listening to the language.  I can cook Italian & shock horror, i eat it too.
