Greetings all,
Wednesday already?? Poof what a week. Just last night we had parent teacher interviews, a volleyball match & dinner out with a friend visiting from Sydney . . . plus i've battled a headachy/ bodyachey virus for a week. I'm also in withdrawal from my husband as he's returned to work (after 2 months of war leave) & our children resumed school.
I'm about to bombard you with stunning images from Taronga Western Plains Zoo, to kick it off, what brilliant timing that Snap It with Faith Hope & a Whole Lotta Love this week is 'soft'. Mother nature totally nailed it when she created the peacock. Look at these glorious patterns, textures & colours!!
Friendly peacocks grace the eating area around the cafe at the entrance to the zoo. I desperately wanted to feel the silky soft feathers. I'd have zoomed in closer to the patterns on this magnicifent animal, however, i had the point & shoot camera, meanwhile, the Nikon D70SLR was off taking pictures of my husband feeding the LIONS!! Those images are a post unto themselves, along with his reaction.
Have a gorgeous midweek blog schmooze around & remember to love your fellow 'real person' blogger. Love Posie

Oh, I want to see the lion photos! That peacock is very lovely, though.
Mr A found out you could feed the lions at the Canberra zoo, and excitedly paid his money to the lady... Only get around the corner and realize all the other participants were under ten. He was the only grownup! He tried to act all cool about it, but failed miserably. It was really exciting for him :)
Hope you recover quickly, and get through your transition with ease xx
Oh feeding the lions here was very much for the over 15s & when my husband booked, we were 'told' to let him go & wait at the cafe for a planned late lunch, children were absolutely not allowed to be there or do this. When you see the photos, you'll see why. My husband was really lucky too, he was the ONLY person in the afternoon feeding the lions (they do tigers in the morning) so had them all to himself. At $59 a pop, it's a seriously big deal, love Posie
Such beautiful colours, peacocks are so stunning aren't they?
How pretty!
The peacocks are beautiful but oh how mucky for Mr P! Sounds like a wonderful experience!
Those feathers just beg to be touched - beautiful!
xx
sorry you've been sick - and have had to say goodbye to your hubby once again. :(
I bought the most gorgeous peacock pincushion this week - the colours just draw me in!!
I didn't realise the handsome soldier was leaving so soon :-(
love a peacock, gorgeous pictures, they have the best blues
Peacocks just fascinate me! Stunning!
i wore electric blue to a wedding in the 80's, i didn't look this good.
I love the colors of the feathers! Also love the blue that you wrote in.
LOVE the Zoo Posie, so look forward to the bombardment of images. And peacocks... SUCH beautiful birds and I think they know it too! xoxo
so sad that your hubby has to go again.... :( i feel fortunate that the next time my hubby has to go away will be in the fall of 2013. but then he'll be gone for about 5 or 6 months and then after that he'll most likely be posted to a ship that will be deployed.
i loove the pics of the peacocks. where we used to live (not far from here) we were close to a huge park. and the peacocks ran wild. often neighbours would find them in their yard. ha. can't wait for the pics of your hubby feeding the lions! eeks!! :) xo
Would love to see lion feeding pictures! Holidays look like you had a great time together. Love the pics.
x M
Peacocks make a perfect picture!
