my creative space . . . 'an Olympic challenge to improve the Limp Bits of your life'

Greetings all,
I'm Olympics mad.  I love sports & the Olympics take my breath away.  I was an athlete, ditto my husband & now our 4 children.  Track, field, teams . . . love it all.  I was lucky enough to run in the Sydney 2000 Torch Relay (i was so overwhelmed after my part, i didn't even recognise my own daughter!!)  SO in honour of the . . . .
. . . where athletes have trained for years to reach the pinnacle of sports performance . . . for fear of being sued for using the sacred word 'Olympics' . . . i'm encouraging bloggers to peak too, in a Creative Limp Bits Challenge - that's right, sounds like Olympics, only it's Limp Bits.  Challenge yourself to fix the Limp Bits of your cooking, craft & photography.
It will run 1st to 15th of August (3 Wednesday link parties) you're encouraged to join in & be challenged to find something you haven't cooked, crafted or photographed before to reach the pinnacle of creative performance.
Week 1 Limp Bits Challenge: bake, cook, roast, sauté, BBQ, grill, smoke, poach . . . something you've never tried before or haven't for a while.  One of the Limp Bits of my life is that i've NEVER cooked a roast, nope, never.  I'm going to try & shall present it on Wednesday 1st August for the first link party.
Who's with me??  Prepared to fix the Limp Bits of your life by Olympic proportions??
Week 2 Limp Bits Challenge: sewing, crochet, knitting & design.
Week 3 Limp Bits Closing Ceremony: Photography!!
Gold, Silver & Bronze blog badges will be awarded!!  Are you a join'er in'er??  Maybe just the cooking, baking or photography challenges??  If it went for longer i'd add Bargain Hunting & Vintage Finds too!!  International players very welcome.  Australians like beating other countries in anything & everything!!
For more creativity, check out Village Voices Creative Space, love Posie
Grab the badge & start planning.  I'll be practising crochet watching Aquatics.

This is going to be fun. I'm in for the cooking, and my sons will be thrilled to know there's a roast on the way. My secrets: season well, brown well in high heat, and make a gravy. If you toss in a pot of rice, I'll come to your house! (Can you tell I'm a Louisiana girl with Cajun roots?)

Oh wait, it's something I haven't cooked? That eliminates roasts. Hmm, my boys may cry. This WILL be a challenge......

Oh Jennie... i am so in! I need encouragement not to just stick with what i know...so I'm off to find an asian recipe or to poach a chook or make dumplings...none of these i'm any good at, but i will try for the sake of the Limp Bits!! thanks for the challenge

Oh mate, I am IN!

I reckon I'll try and make chili mussels. I saw some at the Fyshwick markets on Sunday, and almost bought them, but then chickened out. This is just the kick I need!

I am with you Jennie, I love love love the Olympics. My husband does not understand at all and dreads this time every four years. I am looking forward to having Foxtel and it being on 8 channels - Olympic overload. I am pretty limp at cleaning, so maybe I will try to improve my skills there, or maybe I will resign myself to the fact that I suck and get a cleaner and watch more of the Olympics.

That almost got me excited about the Olympics! It is very hard to be when you live in London. Mainly as you may as well live anywhere in the world for an equal likelihood of being able to be allowed to buy tickets (I got none in any ballot), and instead we are being threatened with public flogging should we have the nerve to catch public transport or drive for the duration of the games. Ideally they would like us all to leave town completely. My house is one street away from the marathon route, and we received an official flyer asking us to please stay indoors those days!! So I will instead embrace your Limp Bits challenge and look to cook a roast (despite the 29 degree days we are having in London!).

I have a problem with the overall premise of your article but I still think its really informative. I really like your other posts. Keep up the great work. If you can add more video and pictures can be much better. Because they help much clear understanding. :) thanks

I'm in Jennie! But now I have to think of something to make. Will I do savoury or sweet?
