i would spend my last $20 in the world on . . .

Greetings all,
Oh yes, i'd blow my last $20 in the world on seafood, hell yeah.  Mmmm, smoked salmon to be precise, it would fit the bill nicely.

Blob of horseradish cream, squeezes of lemon, salt & pepper + sprouts & dill.
Like my salmon rose??  One child claimed this all for herself!!  We just ate off the platter, like cavemen.  There was fork jousting between my 4 starving-hungry-salmon-lovers.
Oh i can still taste it.  I held back 100gm of salmon, just in case . . . my son couldn't eat fast enough so i played hero mother & presented him with extra salmon after the girls left.
The horseradish was a delicious addtion, thanks for the recommendation Jamie Oliver.  It was hot but reminds me of my mummy, she used to make a mean horseradish cream sauce for our roasted vegetables, mmmm.
Aren't you loving Spring, Australia?? I just planted dill in my herb barrel, we eat a lot of seafood here.  Have you ever tossed dill in with chicken & mayo on a roll?? It's a winner.  Try it for lady like luncheons or just because you love yourself.  Love Posie

drool! I love smoked salmon. But prefer lots of capers and black pepper with mine.

Must try the horseradish cream though, never had that...

Thanks for the great idea :D

Oh yes, capers, i often add capers, especially as the children aren't into them . . . yet . . . so i do the old "that piece was infected with a caper, better let Mummy eat it". Love Posie

We had salmon the other night, but it was Australian salmon
My husband went fishing saturday and caught 12 hugeons. We baked them in paper with lemon ginger garlic sweet chilly soy and lots and lots of coriander.
must be that time of year.... snapper season here soon, and then crayfish. I love it when my husband fills his dive tanks for $5 and then brings home 2 huge Crays.... definitely worth every penny.

I think my last $20 would be spent on a crayfish leg. Yum. I do love some nice smoked salmon now and then.

Aw on keeping back some for your little man. (I always stress when I watch any sort of litter feeding and there is a little lost one missing out. I wish those mums had your thoughtfulness)

I would probably spend my last $20 on seafood on some description. Not sure it would be smoked salmon though.

Reading this has made me hungry!

I once had carrot and dill soup which was very yummy.
Smoked salmon is awesome.
Our current Saturday night household favourite is mussels. Oh so yum.

On my way home from the shopping centre I just passed a sign out of the front of our local fish shop which advertised fresh salmon..I was so tempted..and this brings it to my memory again..maybe I should pop down and get some? I wouldn't spend my last $20 on seafood though..maybe a bunch of flowers and a good magazine!

Love your platter and your kids tastes
I'd go for crayfish and dark chocolate (not together!)
