Greetings all,
It's wet, it's cold & it's a pupil free day in Canberra so i'm home with all 4 children & quite frankly nothing better to do than bake them a self saucing pudding, chocolate & everything.
No, until now i'd never heard of a pupil free day - on a Thursday, in the middle of term 3, what??
Anyway, voila, pudding is done, not quite on the window sill of my homestead kitchen fantasy, but on the drainer of my Army house, please don't examine the windows.
If the children are to have a Department of Education sanctioned day off school, they may as well be spoiled. I was spoiled yesterday with some tulips from Tania McCartney!! Oh stay tuned, i'll be doing a giveaway for her latest book in a fortnight.
A day without school runs & children begging to have a pyjama day - i should be tidying my studio, look at my sewing machine . . .
sorting out what is in these bags - all those blue fabrics were taken to Brisbane & back in the school holidays, i was meant to cut them up for a hexagon quilt, still untouched . . .
& putting fabric back on racks, i'm such a lazy fabric librarian!!
Instead, i went to the gym, then the accountant (in that order, poor bloke) & have been having fun with the children. Not very creative but damn meaningful. I'm being lured back to the lounge, after i dish out servings of pudding for afternoon tea (if you know me, my children rarely ever get afternoon tea or pudding or dessert, so their heads are exploding with joy). Me, well i'm on an eating plan, so i'll just sniff their chocolatey bowls of deliciousness & lick the serving spoon.

SOunds like a lovely day. Glad you could all enjoy it together.
Your sewing area looks like mine at the moment... well except you have a bazillion times more fabric then me.
I am coming to visit you in a few weeks... well shop handmade anyway ;-P
Sounds like a lovely day. It's been pudding weather here too. But then what day isn't a good one for sweet treats?
Sounds like a perfectly wonderful way to spend a pupil free day (especially a cold one)!! That pudding looks so good (and I'm not even a chocolate fan!!). More wonderful childhood memories were made today in your home, Posie...LOVE it:) Stay warm ~ xx
Oh...lots of love to you Posie..a bit of couch time after making your kids some comfort food and seeing the accountant etc is a great idea.
The tulips are looking stunning! You inspired me to make lemon self saucing pudding this afternoon - puddings unite! x
How strong of you to resist that chocolatey gooey deliciousness - made even more irresistable by serving it at 4 in the afternoon. Bet the kids ate every last bit!
What? You made choc self saucing pudding and you didn't eat any? Come on.....I know you must have at least licked the bowl and spoon?
love a pudding day
we call them cow pat puddings here :-)
Oh, chocolate pudding, how did you resist? Well done, bet the kids devoured every last spoonful! xSam
I am loving that teapot! Gorgeous! Sounds like a happy day in Posie Land. xx
Lovely window! Have a gorgeous day, Kellie xx
Everyone needs these days now and then!
Tulips and pudding mmmmm very nice indeed!
Is "eating plan" the new "diet"?
Ah pyjama days... is there anything better?!
Pupil free day on a thursday in the middle of the term? Gosh the ACT does some weird stuff!
Looks like you had a wonderful family day spoiling them. Your studio will wait for you :)
xx Sannah
