Greetings all,
I have a brother & a sister both born on the same day, many years apart. Seeing my sister is only 200km away (compared to the birthday brother who is 1000km away) i opted to visit my near by Bowral sibling.
It's such a lovely trip from Canberra, we stop to get up close with the cows . . .
It's such a lovely trip from Canberra, we stop to get up close with the cows . . .
made the poor decision to take our German Shepherd . . .
who sat between/ on the twins in the centre row!!
But all the while, in the car, i was dreaming of the fabrics which arrived earlier this week.
I don't think there is a Babushka fabric i have been able to resist!!
I can not wait to sew with these sewing themed fabrics!!
Have yourselves a lovely wrap up to the week. We're crusising into school holidays (finally), it's starting to get very cold here in Canberra . . . which reminds me - i need to purchase the Winter uniform for high school. Kind of dreading the tights part of the ensemble, i constantly ruined my expensive official/ school/ regulation Winter tights, must have driven my mother crazy!! I remember having to put nail polish on the ladders to prevent them from going the full length of my leg. Classy but handy. Love Posie

Happy holidays :)
aaaah, school tights - I remember them well. My winter uniform in primary school was a grey tunic dress, with blue long sleeved shirt under, blue and grey striped tie (I never used a clipon!), thick grey tights and black shoes, and a grey blazer with blue stripes. Oh, and a grey felt hat with the school badge on it.
At least high school was an improvement, with black tunic, white shirt, black tie with red stripes, black tights, black blazer with red stripes. School systems in South Africa were strict!
Oh, and LOVE the long suffering look on twin two's face...
it was a beautiful day hey. hehe those dogs with their big butts.

Great fabrics...have fun sewing something up with them...our school holidays start next week and I have begun formulating the to do list already..
I am a sucker for fabrics! Fortunately I've signed up for the 'Dress a Girl Around the World' scheme so I'll finally use some of the many fabrics I have!
I love German Shepherds, my mum has 2 and they're awesome, like big daft puppies!
Can't wait to see what delights you create from those scrummy fabrics!

oh i am scared, the twins school camp is to Canberra this year... and they want me to come with! So if you're cold already and we're still swimming in the pool I'm going to be rugged up like an eskimo come july for the camp :) Enjoy the holidays Posie x
I can imagine it's getting chilly in Canberra if we're feeling it in Sydney :) Enjoy your school hols xx
I'm not sure which is cuter and more beautiful, the pic of your German Shepherd sitting on your lovely little lady OR that babushka doll material. I think I'll settle on a draw. Gorgeous Posie :o)
I use to do that to with the nail polish ,I wish I had had some in church with my run just this last Sunday! Your dog looked so sweet sitting on her lap!
I love the Bowral / Berrima area :) love that fabric too!
Ah yes, the nail polish on tights is a childhood memory of mine too.
Have a great day out and enjoy the beautiful scenery - maybe you'll get some inspiration for your farm.
Lucky you, having all those fabrics to look forward to - enjoy!
Ooh, isn't that fabric divine? Just gorgeous.
We always stop to see any farm animals we see in our travels too, the kids love it....enjoy your time away, we aren't on holidays here till next week :)
xx
Just gorgeous photos Posie, I just love dogs, I could not be without my Max. Mimi xx
Aww... that pic of dog sitting on twin - priceless!
The dreaded winter uniform! I remember we had to wear brown tights (no pantyhose allowed). They were the most dreadful milk coffee coloured things - not at all the thing for attracting the boys from the two boys' schools in close proximity to my all girls Catholic school. I always used to get holes in mine from stray nails and rough edges on the desks. It took me many years to wear tights again.
Love that photo of your dog sitting on your daughter. The look on her face is priceless!
I remember those nailpolish days also! Do kids still do that? Buy the thick cotton stockings!
Thanks for reminding me of the nail polish on the tights days. My 10 year old is currently rebelling against the pinafore, tights part of the school uniform and is opting for the pants part. Fine by me. It means she can wear runners and I don't have to buy the proper school shoes. What's the bet the fashion will change and the pinafores will be cool again by the time she hits grade 6?
Love those fabrics, love your shop.. hope to be of service to you in the future with a new project I am launching soon xx
Such sweet fabric - I would love sewing with it too if I were you! :) (Although I might be too chicken to actually cut into those cute little Babushkas.
Happy holidays!
Love S x
