things i'm loving 'are you ready to Zumba?? I am, I am!!'

Greetings all,
Things i'm loving this week . . . I went to a Zumba class, how much fun, sweat, jiggling & giggles can a girl have while getting fit??  I whacked one lady to my left, then during the same ‘routine’ the lady in front whacked me while spinning, we’re even!!  The instructor is South American, kudos, she has the natural moves, translates the songs into English as she sings along never out of breath.  Did I mention she’s the size of Eva Longoria & a grandmother??  Honestly, she’s just so damn cool!!  I was clearly a beginner – not as in uncoordinated-arms-flying-out-of-beat . . . but I didn’t have a single thing on me branded Zumba??!!  Oh yes, there were Zumba bandanas (something for bandana accessorising Model Mumma to style), official logo Zumba pants (with one pant leg rolled up, no kidding) & of course tank tops in fluoro colours.
I had my eyes glued on the instructor to watch her feet move in fast motion & salsa her heart out.  During a rather tribal routine with bongos, jumps & lunges, I remembered why I should do pelvic floor exercises more often, tee hee!!  I wasn’t too bad, I am very flexible (you should see me give birth, perhaps not) & the little extra steps I missed . . . my body was wobbling to make up for it anyway, so it looked as though I didn’t skip a beat.
It was fun way to unwind after an hour on the school run distributing children around Canberra, i think Zumba is going to be a regular thing.  It was a blast & to come home feeling so revitalised was wonderful - I played with the puppy while I watered the vegetables & my new routine is panning out nicely for the year.  I've even found a fantastic route to school dodging ALL traffic congestion (there are road works between the schools my children attend) I should be allowed to drive in the bus lane with my car load!!
So my eldest started high school, thought i'd start something new too!!  To find out what other people are loving this Friday, check out Paisley Jade, she's a fun & crafty mum of 4 too, yay for us.  Love Posie

Yah for you, is exactly right.

Zumba is on THE list - although interestingly enough - not on the smaller version that I blogged about - of things that I'd like to try this year.

You've put my feet one step closer towards the CWA hall door - now if only Cpt. V would come good on his Christmas present - a new pair of runners.

Now, let's ZUMBA!

HAHAHAH! I can only style bandana's if I'm causing trouble at Coles... not at Zumba... hey gotta keep up the rebel appearance somehow! ;)

Preaching to the converted here! I have been doing Zumba for 18 months and it has been the first time in my life that I have ENJOYED exercise. Mind you, I do the DVDs at home. A few advantages for me, not least because there are no cool, fit people to make me feel like a lardy-arsed, un-ordinated elephant. Enjoy it!

Zumba! Good for you....me I will stick to my gentle walk each morning as I don't think my pelvic floor would hold up with movement and the laughter that would happen!

Have not tried Zumba yet but have heard so many great things about it...my trouble is squeezing it into an already hectic life.

I have been wanting to try this too but I am so uncoordinated I thought I would look ridiculous. I really should give it a try as it sounds so fun!

Best wishes and happy weekend,
Natasha.

Arrrgh I did Zumba once and hated it! I'm no dancer, definitely not for me. Snap on the pelvic floor exercises...I realised I definitely need to be squeezing a bit more regularly after that!
