not quite the post i was planning . . .

Greetings all,
Oh thank you ALL so much for your kind well wishes for Oprah tickets to fall into my InBox today.  Sigh, no, not for me.  While i went to bed last night dreaming i would do the happiest most excitable post on earth today, it's not to be.  Congratulations to the 6000 lucky audience members who did.
Back to reality, here in North Canberra today . . . we had 6 hail storms & counting . . . the last couple after school so with children who 'speed up towards danger' they were running around trying to catch 'ice cubes from the sky'!!
From this shot you can see 3 of our neighbours, yep, this is exactly why we want 50ha of land & wide open spaces for our children.  See how close we are to our neighbours here??!!  We also plan a whopping Queenslander entertainment style balcony so when we get such a storm on the farm, the hail won't be landing on the BBQ grill, sizzling away.  Yes, we had a BBQ dinner despite the weather & the pelting of hail.
So we came inside to bake tomorrow's recess & play with some craft.  As a big fan of washi tapes from Japan, Typo & Kikki-K have some super cute ones right now in French & fruit themes, joy!!
So did you get a hail storm in your neck of the woods??  I saw on the news that NSW got hammered.  We came home from school to find my husband turning out the garage so there was market stock everywhere & no room for 2 cars, so they were outside in the hail.  Ouch!!  Have lovely weeks everyone, love Posie

No hail in my part of town but lots of thunder and a beautiful silver sunset. Kids just love hail don't they, and why not :)

apart from two lots of 10 minute showers and a couple of half hearted 2 minute drizzles we haven't had proper rain since september. or maybe late august. i miss rain!

I love hailstorms. Around here, hail stones are collected and kept in the freezer (for way longer than I'm comfortable to admit).

I use to love the small hail storms! sorry about Oprah! You should have a party get dressed up with friends and watch the show together!

Oh, so sad about the tickets. Oh well. We didn't get hail, unless it came when I was asleep. The storm didn't really hit until late so I was in bed. Hope your cars were OK.

All that french and fruity stuff looks brilliant. I love red.
