my creative space 'poor man's terrarium'

Greetings all,
I guess My Creative Space at Kootoyoo is on holidays but Thursdays force me to whip up some creativity, so i'm hanging in there.  At Shop Handmade we have some really cool terrariums & i'd love one, only with herbs . . .  $25 giant glass bowl, $6 worth of pebbles, $3 thyme, soil & water spray, voila, a herb terrarium for the dining table.
I think i could honestly live with this bowl just filled with pebbles, looks so cool.
The overall product is great, the view from the bottom to show pebbles - hmmmm, more artistry is required & perhaps more pebbles??  Gosh, not another $6!!  Tee hee.  Also think the soil should flatten out in time, oh who cares, it's fun!!  So now the dining table smells delicious & herby, i'm pretty thrilled.  I had visions of 3 or 4 different herbs in there, just wasn't going to happen, so they went into the herb barrel by the back door (parsley, dill & coriander so far this Spring).
Happy creative space invading people & holidays to Kirsty at Kootoyoo.  Love Posie

Great idea! I have been meaning to make a terrarium for ages and I even brought a jar to do it. But I ended up filling it with vintage cotton bobbins instead!

love the idea of herbs in the house. We have them growing at the back door also, but it's just too far and too cold in the middle of cooking some nights. I sometimes keep them in a vase on the windowsill - for the smell and for the handyness of grabbing while cooking. I like your terrarium as it actually grows in there - unlike in a vase... where it can get a little smelly if you don't change the water...;)

Terrific!

Have a look at this on etsy

I saw a top one a while ago with a little wee horse running across a hill of moss. I could give it a go. Of course I could just stick a little plastic deer in the moss under the front step and voila! ... nothing to look after then.

I love this idea. I really want to grow fresh herbs but unfortunately, anything I put indoors meets a tragic end. x
