Greetings all,
Well knowing these are possibly the ONLY bunches of flowers i will get all year (last Sunday's Mother's Day!!) i am forcing them to live beyond their days. So i've refashioned them into one new large bouquet, revived their stems & super fresh water. Naturally my middle girls could NOT resist the opportunity to make potions from the disgarded flower petals. Let's just say, it got ugly after this fresh, dry & looks-good-enough-to-eat stage (think slops of water & food colouring, eekk).
All this gorgeous green foliage went straight from sink to compost - it is among friends now - it was really starting to smell like compost!!
This lovely pot of pansies came from our school Mother's Day stall & so far, remains alive & well on the window sill above the sink. Please avert your eyes from unclean windows - it's bare dirt outside that particular window with a galloping German Shepherd flicking up all sorts of mud about & well, short of cleaning those windows daily, they never look great!! The pretty purple flowers however, are a sweet distraction. Have lovely weeks everyone, love Posie

Gorgeous flowers. I just splurged on some orange tulips. Nothing like fresh flowers to brighten the whole house up! xo m.
I used to love making flower petal potions. Now my boys make them, though they mostly consist of mud, twigs & unidentified bug bits...
Would never have looked at the window if you hadn't pointed it out, windows should only be cleaned in summer! Any other time and the dogs only shake, lick and flick mud and water on them anyway! Nice plant though and it's a good foil to your terribly dirty windows ;o]

Flowers still look great... Ahhh,I remember those magical days of old when I was a creator of many a potion.
Don't kids love making concoctions like that ! I'll just bet your windows are cleaning than mine .
You should put some in your bath water.
i love a pot of pretty flowers indoors. Don't worry, your windows look very similar to mine, and no, I don't have a dog as an excuse!
Haha, made me laugh with the description of the potion. My children have made lots of potions over time and it's always the same, it goes downhill after about three 'ingredients'!

Isn't the aroma of a good potion lovely when left on the stove in the cubby house in a saucepan and discovered a few weeks later....
I had to ban flowers from our potions as my poor bushes were being stripped bare! Only stuff from the ground now. What a mean Mum I am.
Oh I used to love making petal potions when I was a kid! So much fun. The flowers look beautiful too. I guess the chilly weather is good for one think, if only to keep cut flowers fresh! :)
