Greetings all,
What am i doing inside?? Hand raising new chicks. Meet Piccolo, she's 1 day old.
Direct from chick to egg cup, we love soft boiled eggs & 'daddies' (my children call the strips of toast 'daddies' instead of 'soldiers',) OMG, my handsome soldier is home this month, i'm truly out of my mind with excitement!!

ReplyDeleteOh my, Posie, that is beautiful! So so cute. Amazing how those gorgeous little creatures come out of an egg! xo
ReplyDeleteHOw fun to be hand raising some chickens, this ones looks very cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute chick! So happy that the countdown has started and daddy/hubby is on his way home! Yay! X
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that chick. I'd be excited too. I don't know how you do it, we're so pathetic we hate spending time apart even a few days!
ReplyDeleteSo cute. No wonder you're excited. I wouldn't cope with such long times apart!
ReplyDeleteToo gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute. A little overlooked though for the egg cup!
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo to hubby coming home, fantastic news.
so so cute...
ReplyDeleteLove the new chick on the block. If you want eggs during winter you can try using a heat lamp or a light set to a timer to come on a couple of hours before sunrise has worked for us. We found that as the days got shorter the eggs production dropped off. There are many variables to adjust to alter egg production.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Handsome soldier will be back soon.
x M
what a fun job to have!! so sad about the lemon comment you left me....Jamie O needs to make a visit to their home!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet picture. Chicks and ducklings are one of my favourite happy things! Are you going to the Poultry Show in June at EPIC? My kids love it.

Hi Posie...how nice for you to have your sweet husband home with you and your babies :-)... Xo....
ReplyDeleteP.s I remember raising a baby chicken for two weeks for a psychology experiment in school...and I remember how hard it was...I used to rock it to sleep at night, so it wouldn't be afraid.... I still can't believe I did that
Yay - not long now. Just quietly he is going to FREEZE:)
