Greetings all,
Well you asked who was next . . . after my brush with Queen Elizabeth II last month & my dash with President Obama last week . . . the answer Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
Official flag raising . . .
we winged it in the rain after school & scored prime position . . .
she arrived . . .
over to meet the cheering crowds!!
General Cosgrove hosting the whos who this year at his War Memorial, chatting away to Crown Prince Frederik who is Navy Frogman.
Can totally see why she fell for him.
The hat . . .
chatting & shaking hands with each of my 4 children!!
She was so delightful, so gracious & . . . so excited that the lady next to me (who leant me her umbrella) had brought Fruit Tingles - her favourite Australian lolly!!
People mover had baby seats, but not their adorable twins, sigh.
All over, off again & Frederik waved to my son again!!
Wordless Wednesdays over at Faith Hope & a Whole Lotta Love, sorry, as always, i'm a tad over excited about yet another once-in-a-lifetime-experience!! Love Posie
How lovely! If you can't sew, you may as well be doing something fun - and this star spotting certainly fits the bill :)
ReplyDeleteHow nice! :-)
ReplyDeleteTotes jealous Posie! She's such a lovely Tassie girl... but then so am I!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteYes, FRUIT TINGLES. Apparently years ago on Andrew Denton, she said she missed Fruit Tingles - can't imagine how that translated into Danish, sugary fruit flavoured disc lollies?? She was so thrilled to get a bag of them saying "oh you remembered, thank you so much". Love her!!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to say they are normal, parents of 4 children, school runs, as they are royalty & that is magic, but gosh they are in touch & so prepared to meet we regular folk!!
Thanks for sharing in my excitement, love Posie

Oh well done - I was going to send you and email and check if you had seen her seeing as I figured you were on a roll! Lucky girl - I think she is my favourite of all the celebs you have met, well, maybe a draw with the Queen. And how wonderful for your children too. Well done! happy day!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, papa papa-artzi (thanks Lady GaGa) but would much prefer royals & world leaders over the likes of a teen pop sensation. Now i just feel old. Canberra is definitely rocking lately.
ReplyDeleteCan you see the detail in Mary's cardi, tiny ruffles, she can wear anything that girl!! Love Posie
wow wow wow - lucky Posie family!!!
ReplyDeleteLast time Mary was in Tassie she visited my daughter's school - Lil gave Isabella a bee she had made in art :-)
Oh Jennie. Giggling in Hobart. Seeing Mary now is a world away from our days at law school at UTAS! J x
ReplyDeleteDid you let her know that you were a mum of 4 too, with twins as well? Thanks for sharing - it is exciting.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, i said "meet my twins" & she smiled then looked confused, as of course, they were standing on each end of my big & little children!! I'm still beaming, what a treat. Just goes to show, you never know where that totally hot guy in a club or bar might end up taking you in life!! Or how many babies you'll end up having. My doctor brother said she had her twins naturally, oh la la, like me, funny i didn't raise the discussion on vaginal deliveries, not in polite company. Love Posie
