Greetings all,
Totally thrilled to announce the uber talented author Tania McCartney has released a new book in her Riley children's picture book travelogue series . . .
Riley & The Grumpy Wombat: A Journey Around Melbourne,
by Ford Street Publishing on 1st September 2011.
My babies' Daddy does a lot of the reading in our house hold, it's such a lovely wind down at the end of the day & easy way for him to bond with our children, so what better day than Father's Day to launch a book giveaway on my blog!!  Yahoo!!

 Isn't Tania lovely??  That's a statement!!
Tania has a fantastic blog tour this week to celebrate & i'm the lucky host of a giveaway - a copy of the softback book valued at $16.95 + a coordinating pencil roll in limited edition Riley fabric valued at $37.50.
If you are a Canberra local, you might be lucky enough to score your name on the guest list at the Grumpy Book Launch at Daltons Book Store Canberra City on 18th September!! RSVP on 02 6249 1844 with Meredith.
Tania is a tireless & energetic cheer leader for children's literacy, she's recently won a highly commended for a short story (audience applause please), has a beautiful blog & performs the most engaging reading sessions for children at special events, i'm so so honoured to call her one of my great friends!!  We're both newish to Canberra & LOVING it here.
Want a chance to win a copy of Riley & The Grumpy Wombat + a pencil roll . . . follow this blog & tell me 'your favourite travel destination for your children' or where you dream to take them one day.  You are welcome to enter for your nieces, nephews, grandchildren, neighbours, libraries . . . anywhere you can find children enjoying the pleasure reading.  Extra entries if you blab about this on FB, Twitter, blog, spread the word people - Tania is awesome!!  Mrs McCartney & i will choose a winner after a very businessy-Nigella-styled-ladylike-meeting-with-cupcakes ('tis how we roll) on Monday 19th September 2011 & announce the winner that evening.
Good luck!!  Thanks Tania for the opportunity to host yet another wonderful book launch & giveaway.  This is the 4th book in the Riley series (others include Beijing, Hong Kong & Sydney).  Why not collect all 4 like we have in our home, they are fantastic Christmas gifts, always love a collection of anything.  Love Posie
PS another giveaway to win a copy of the book is on the Handmade blog!!

Sounds like a great giveaway, Melbourne is such a lovely place too... I would love to take the kids somewhere on an aeroplane as they are both obsessed with planes and Miss 4 keeps filling every bag in the house with toys and calling it her 'luggage' - maybe flying to the snow as i would love to see them in the snow too.

Oh you gorgeous thing! Thank you for hosting me yet again. It's always a pleasure to visit Posie and bask in the love.

I'm looking forward to some wonderful comp answers - good luck everyone!

Gosh, Grumpy is a cutie.

I want to take our children to Finland one Christmas. I have spent 2 white Christmas' there- truly magic- and I have met the real Santa Claus in Lapland.

It is a fabulous experience and one that I hope to share with the kids one day.

PS Did the children get a big suprise when daddy turned up at the door early? ;)

Great giveaway , well we once were lucky enough to take our boys to Hawaii and we dream of going back there one day . But for now we are off on a houseboat for our next holiday and they are so excited.

Would you believe it, but I'd like to take my kids to CANBERRA! We spent 2 lovely days there about 6 years ago and loved the Science Centre and the War Memorial, the Portrait Gallery and the restaurants... now that we have two more kids I'm planning a trip there after a family Christmas in Sydney. Of course, Disneyland and Paris are also on the list (altho with school fees now they're looking a long way away!) but we'll do Canberra first I think!

I would love to take my son on a road trip around Australia. At the moment his favourite destination is any where he can go camping.

I love to holiday at home. We live in such a wonderful place here on the Mornington Peninsula and there is so much to do.

I dream of taking the family to France one day, finally getting to use some of the french I studied at uni. Oh and would love to make it a business trip and pedal my wares through Paris making deliveries to some gorgeous little children's boutiques.

We loved Tania's last book set in Sydney. Would love to see one set in Paris... :-)

It sounds like a brilliant book - and I'm sure it's full of humour. I love taking our kids to their Grandparents near Port Macquarie. My inlaws live 2 mins walk from the beach, so there is plenty to do!
My dream place to go with them would be either Vanuatu to see how other people live and experience the culture, or the Seychelle Islands... I'm not fussy, but I do like a good holiday! ;)

Greatest trip ever with my children? When we came back to Australia nearly three years agao for Christmas. We drove from Port Phillip Bay to Echuca, Bendigo, Ballarat, Warrnambool and then back toward Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road and then inland to Colac. They were 7&10 and we slavishly followed the 'Ma &Pa' books about Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road. I wish I had known about Tania's books too.

Our little man loves books and we dream about taking him to Paris. He knows what the Eiffel Tower is and tells anyone who'll listen that he's going to Paris one day to say 'bonjour!'.

Oh Paris, sounds like a great Riley destination & Tania is a travel maniac, did you read about her family holiday to New Zealand in Maeve magazine this month??
I'm thinking a business trip to France is in order for all of us!! I know it's possibly Tania's favourite country & she's fluent en francais, of course!! Love Posie

Yay for a giveaway! I know it's a cliché and a half but I'd love to take my youngest to Disneyland. I've taken the eldest and we went family backpacking through Asia this past Jan so I feel that a holiday of the DL variety is in order. Ok, maybe Euro Disney. Or Disneyland Tokyo?

Count me I'm. I want to take my kids to Thunder Bird Park near Mt Tamborine. Here we can camp, go fossicking for thunder eggs and do some high wire sky walking thingy. Sound like so much fun doesn't it? Maybe for the big kids as well. You have amazing giveaways dear Posie. Have a happy time with your solider home....

I am hoping to take my one and only grandson to Japan next year. (or I should say his fantastic Mum and Dad are taking him and his unseasoned traveller grandparents) to Japan to show us Cherry Blossom time. It will be an awesome experience and hopefully the first of many places we will visit together. Sharyn

We love going to a quiet camp spot not far from Nowra. Beautiful river, wallabies, wombats, peacocks and the biggest tree for my kids to climb (and no phone or internet connection).

Would love to win this. I would have to say our kids favorite destination to holiday is to their grandparents. Both of them can't wait to be old enough to fly by themselves.
We go in a new adventure every two year when we move and this year takes us closer to Melbourne, would love the opportunity to win the book for the kids to read:).
