Qld Flood Appeal Auction: handmade posie patchwork quilt + giveaway

Greetings all,
Welcome to the Qld Flood Appeal Auction at the Posie blog . . . my husband lives in Brisbane so this is my little way to help out with fundraising & letting the people in Qld know they're in my thoughts, all the way from Canberra.  My God Mother & her husband have lost their fencing business in Brisbane, water is over the roof of the sheds, all the vehicles are gone & they are expecting 3m more of flood water.  They employ half a dozen men who won't be able to work for a long time, people have lost their family income too!!
AUCTION CLOSED:  Congratulations to my lovely gal pal Sheridan from Chalet Girl & Sew it Together fame, for winning this quilt at $120!!  Sheridan was my first & last (winning) bidder.
GIVEAWAY WINNER: Congratulations sweet Cathie from m.e (Melbourne Epicure) who has won 4 Japanese FQ fabrics.
So . . . up for auction is this handmade patchwork quilt

Is there no end to all the marvellous things you contribute to, Jennie? You are a true superstar.

I was very tempted to be one of your five commenters on your previous post about paying it forward. But then I got gun shy because I'm not that good at making things!! I think I will leave it to the talented.

I'm thinking of your family and your soldier boy Jennie, I hope everyone is safe and dry. Awful to hear about your poor, poor god mother.

I hope your hubby is safe and everyone is doing ok. Really can't believe what has been going on! It's very surreal watching it on tv.

Isn't it so amazing how many people are putting up auctions for this cause! I am so proud at the moment. I will be back later in the week to see where your auction is at and whether I can still afford it!
