Can you believe THAT was our Australian Spring?? Tomorrow is Summer, yes our seasons change on the 1st of each quarter, to keep things simple here in Australia. So explain to me . . . why i'm sipping on Tania's homemade gingerbread hot chocolate while i'm freezing my bottom off, chopping fabric at the kitchen counter??

Why i'm wearing tights, leather boots, long sleeved top & a denim tunic today?? I want a hot shower & flannelette sheets back on the bed!!
Add to that why i want to wrap myself up in a patchwork quilt & just snuggle up with my husband!! Even the puppy is back inside tonight, ok so he's nearly 3 but still he gets cold, needy & sad when it's cold & wet outside!!
So much hype & excitement about the Handmade Living book . . . author Tania McCartney offered up a bit of a reveal on her blog tour post today. What i love about this book is that it's so much more than creative projects to try but how to style your handmade products - with inspirational settings, accessories & adornments.
So here's a sneak peek at how my pencil roll 'how to' was styled, pretty cute non?? As i make these professionally, i made this version a little differently, it's a simple to try with endless fabric combinations, i'd love to see people give it a go.

I'm in total agreeance about the lack of spring this year. except for the complete opposite reason. Over here in rural WA we've had about 1 week of spring and 1 and a half months of summer already. Soooo over summer and it doesn't start until tomorrow! go away 38 degree days. I think there has only been a handful of days this month where it has been under 30. Mother Nature just really does not believe in sharing the love around does she?
Pretty typical Canberra weather, but don't despair Queensland isn't that much better! I'd love a chance at winning the book please.

This weather completely sucks! Your pencil roll however certainly does not! Looks fab. I'll cross my fingers for Saturday :)
I know - it is raining here too - and we are meant to be heading camping for Christmas and Mum and Dad have not seen sunshine in 6 weeks: SIX WEEKS.
Don't wis for the rain even when yo are on the land - well not as much as they are getting at the moment. Tim's parent's just lost $20,000 worth of hay that they had grown and cut. Oh living on the land and farming is such a gamble (tis why hubby is still in the forces - at least we get a pay check every fortnight.)
Oh yay tips on styling too? I WANT THAT BOOK :-) We are having HOT HOT HOT weather here...LOVE your quilt and boot :-) Amen to snuggles too lol.

Yeah I know - it won't be long before we are whining about how hot it is :-) I have jeans and a cardi on!!!
